BRAIN POWER

Exactly 11 months ago today, my son had a terrible car accident and could have lost his life. It’s a miracle he came out of this catastrophe alive, and we are so grateful he survived without paralysis or brain damage. Small miracles CAN happen. An angel was most certainly watching over him that very moment his car collided. He’s come a LONG way in 11 months, and he’s recently been able to begin physical therapy. YAY!!!

YOUR BRAIN IS THE MOST POWERFUL MUSCLE IN YOUR BODY!!

Why do I feel that our mind is the most powerful muscle in our body? When your body is feeling weak it’s our brain power that can help us feel better and get us through the next day/hour/minute. A positive mindset is priceless. When your are feeling down and out, it’s the positive messages that you send to your brain that will help to get you through the rough patches.

When my son was at his worst, I kept telling him to use his brain power, and you better believe I was telling myself the same thing. We reminded ourselves of what was good in that moment and we took it one baby step at a time. His body might have been blasted in that car accident, but THANK GOODNESS his mind was able to stay strong!

Your body might be weak at times, but your mind can get you through more than we realize until we are tested to draw from it’s power.

I am a survivor of many crises and curveballs in life, and I use my brain power quite frequently to get through prolonged and hugely challenging circumstances. In essence, I am training my brain and filling it with positive motivational messages. Furthermore, I like to use these positive messages I communicate to my own brain during my personal training sessions and group fitness classes to motivate my clients and class participants to work harder than they think the might be able to work.

YOUR BRAIN IS THE MOST POWERFUL MUSCLE IN YOUR BODY!!

I use countless motivational messages when I am personal training and teaching my group exercise classes. But, after my son’s accident, I began to use the phrase “YOUR BRAIN IS THE MOST POWERFUL MUSCLE IN YOUR BODY” often. I say it to motivate people to push themselves beyond what they are physically comfortable doing. While we exercise, we can often show ourselves just how strong we actually are. Pushing yourself to your edge, in a safe way, allows you to prove to yourself just what you are capable of accomplishing. Like Winnie the Pooh said, “We are braver than we believe, stronger than we feel, and smarter than we think.”

It’s hard to motivate ourselves to begin to exercise in general, and it’s even harder to push ourselves to the uncomfortable zone once we have started to exercise.

Mantras are an extremely effective way to motivate yourself to begin to exercise, and furthermore, to then push yourself to your maximum potential while you are exercising. I want to share some of my favorite mantras that help me stay motivated, get out of my comfort zone, and WORK HARD HARD HARD!

My hope is that one or two of these mantras will help you get moving in general, while ultimately motivating you to work harder while you exercise. Use these mantras to get to your uncomfortable zone where the growth occurs. In that discomfort you are getting stronger physically and mentally.

You got this.jpg

I CAN DO THIS. I WILL DO THIS.

KEEP MOVING FORWARD.

I AM STRONG. I AM BRAVE.

EVERY EFFORT COUNTS.

MOVE WITH POWER. MOVE WITH PURPOSE.

MENTAL STRENGTH MATTERS.

MOVEMENT IS MEDICINE.

GET UNCOMFORTABLE.

CHANGE AND GROWTH IS HAPPENING NOW.

I’M ALL IN.

I GOT THIS.

BREATH IN. BREATH OUT.

BE WELL. STAY HEALTHY. STAY STRONG.

Next time you are down and out, use your BRAIN POWER to remind yourself of every single blessing in front of you. Use your brain power to tell yourself positive messages to inch through every moment. TRAIN YOUR BRAIN.

Next time you are trying to motivate yourself to begin to exercise, or to push yourself to your maximum effort while you are exercising, use your BRAIN POWER and tell yourself one of my mantras above. TRAIN YOUR BRAIN.

YOU GOT THIS. YOU CAN DO THIS. YOU WILL DO THIS. YOU ARE STRONG. YOU ARE HEALTHY.
