This low impact cardio & strength training class focuses on cardiovascular endurance, strength training, balance, cognitive skills & stretching

Live class begins with an 8 minute warm up followed by a low impact cardio workout for about 30 minutes. speed and agility is part of our cardio workout.

the later part of class focuses on strength training for the entire body, core and back strengthening, and stretching.

We do some core & back strength work at the end of class on a mat or standing. balance and cognitive skills are incorporated throughout the entire class.

After I retired, I enrolled in various exercise classes at the West U Senior Center and had some very good instructors. I recently joined Cynthia’s Club Stay Strong class at the urge of my husband, who has been taking her online classes for a few years. I found Cynthia’s class more comprehensive, challenging, and enjoyable than all my previous experiences. Cynthia is an excellent instructor. She is easy to follow and gives clear instructions. She also has a pleasant personality and is a great motivator. The online Tuesday & Thursday classes emphasize cardio, strength, and core exercises but also include stretching and balancing. We work on different muscles (arms, legs, or core) in every session, but all the activities are essential for my overall health and well-being. I have noticed a positive effect on the range of motion for my shoulders and hip joints. The core exercises also help very much with my lower back pain, which has been an issue for me periodically. I also like the mini workouts on stretching and foam rolling that are always available on Cynthia’s website. They will become part of my weekly routine.

All About the Bonuses

Warm Up Video - This 15 minute warm up video can be done before any workout routine to increase the heart rate and blood flow to the muscles.  This warm up prepares your body for physical activity, helps prevent injuries and enhances performance during your workout.

Cool Down Video - This 15 minute cool down video can be done after any workout routine to gradually decrease your heart rate.   This cool down can help reduce muscle soreness, improve flexibility, and promote recovery after your workout. 

Chair Stretching - This 15 minute video is a great full body stretch in the chair you an do any time.  Stretching improves joint range of motion, decreases your risk of injuries, increases muscle flood flow, improves your ability to do daily activities, and helps to reduce stress.  Use this video when you are at the office, or can not get on the floor due to physical limitations.  

Stretching on Mat - This 30 minute video is a wonderful full body stretch on the mat/floor, and it includes therapy band stretches.  Stretching improves joint range of motion, decreases your risk of injuries, increases muscle flood flow, improves your ability to do daily activities, and helps to reduce stress. Stretching on a mat will allow for more comfort while on the floor.

Beginner Low Impact Cardio- This 50 min. workout consists of a warm up, 30 min. modified low impact cardio, and a cool down. This video is great if you have not worked out in a while, had a recent set back and are ready to begin moving again safely, or are recovering from an injury and have been released to begin exercising again. Please have a sturdy chair handy.

Foam Rolling on the Mat - This 30 minute foam rolling video is done on a mat with a 36” foam roller.  Foam rolling can be done pre or post workout.  Foam rolling is a type of soft tissue work that’s called myofascial release, and it can help alleviate muscle pain and tension caused by adhesions that can form between your muscle and your fascia.  

* Membership Appreciation Class - This 60 minute workout consists of stretching standing and on the mat, core & back strengthening on the mat, and balance exercises.  A strong core can improve your balance & stability and reduce back pain.  A strong back will support your body more efficiently.   Balance exercises help you maintain coordination, and prevent falls.  

core & back strengthening on mat (beginner / intermediate level) - This 30 minute workout video consists of core and back exercises on the mat that you can do every day to keep your core and back strong. a strong core can improve your balance & stability and reduce back pain. a strong back will support your body more efficiently.

core & back strengthening on mat (intermediate / advanced level) - This 30 minute workout video consists of core and back exercises on the mat that you can do every day to keep your core and back strong. a strong core can improve your balance & stability and reduce back pain. a strong back will support your body more efficiently.

core & back strengthening standing - This 20 minute beginner /intermediate level workout video consists of core and back exercises standing. Some of the exercises can be used with free weights for a progression. if you are using one of the club stay strong dynamic workouts and do not want to do the core/back routine on the mat, then this is for you. a strong core can improve your balance & stability and reduce back pain. a strong back will support your body more efficiently.

core & back strengthening in the chair (beginner / intermediate level) - This 25 minute video consists of core and back exercises in the chair that you can do every day to keep your core and back strong. this video is for anyone looking for beginner to intermediate level core work. But, due to physical limitations or injury, if you are not able to do core/back standing or on the mat, then this is especially for you. a strong core can improve your balance & stability and reduce back pain. a strong back will support your body more efficiently.

stretching, foam rolling, core & back strengthening on the mat (beginner / intermediate level) - This 80 minute video consists of stretching, foam rolling, and core and back exercises on the mat. This is a video that you can do every day to keep your core and back strong, and to keep you limber as well. a strong core can improve your balance & stability and reduce back pain. a strong back will also support your body more efficiently. foam rolling is a type of soft tissue work that’s called myofascial release, and it can help alleviate muscle pain and tension caused by adhesions that can form between your muscle and your fascia. rotator cuff, shoulder, lower body strength training workout (all levels) - this 70 minute video begins with a warm up, and then focuses on strengthening the rotator cuff, shoulder, and lower body. strengthening the rotator cuff can improve your shoulder flexibility, making it easier to perform daily activities that require lifting, reaching, or pulling. It also helps reduce daily stiffness and discomfort. a strong rotator cuff will help to keep your shoulder stable. The benefits of strong shoulders are: increased stability and mobility, reduced risk of injury, improved ability to do every day tasks.
